Other Ministries and Programs for Children
Treasure Time is a program for children ages 4-2nd grade that meets in the Children’s Chapel after the children’s homily during the 10:30 a.m. service. Children enjoy a Bible story, singing, playing games, painting, coloring and on occasion, a service-related activity. Parents may pick up their children immediately after the service.
From Memorial Day through Labor Day we offer Summer Sundays. Children ages 4 and up are invited to enjoy special fun after the children’s homily at the 10:30 a.m. service. Adult and teen helpers provide a Bible story, songs, art activities and parachute games outside on the playground (weather permitting) or indoors in inclement weather.
Youth Sunday is the fourth Sunday of the month during the school year. The youth of the church participate in a variety of ways during the 10:30 a.m. service. They may usher, carry the elements, read the lessons or read the Prayers of the People. Youth in grades 1-12 learn how to serve their church during class time and and may make a commitment to serve where they are most comfortable.
Interested young people are welcome to become acolytes. Acolytes serve an important role on Sunday mornings at both the 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services. Acolytes have ample opportunity for training throughout the year. If you are interested in becoming an acolyte, please contact the Acolyte Master or the church office.
