Psalm 97; Psalm 99; Psalm 100; Psalm 94; Psalm 95; Genesis 49:29—50:14; 1 Corinthians 11:17-34;
Mark 8:1-10

In those days when there was again a great crowd without anything to eat, he called his disciples and said to them, “I have compassion for the crowd, because they have been with me now for three days and have
nothing to eat.”
Mark 8:1-2

In my mind, this passage represents a classic example of Faith. Can you imagine what must have been going through the minds of the Lord’s disciples when Jesus tells them to feed four thousand very hungry people with only seven loaves of bread and a few fish? However, for three days they had listened to Jesus preach about the love of God, the power of God and the Grace of God. So they did not question, but proceeded to distribute the food and “they ate and were filled.”

Dear Lord, please strengthen our faith throughout this Lenten season so that we may more fully know and appreciate the love of God, the power of God and the grace of God. Amen.
