Youth Confirmation Classes Begin February 5
Confirmation is an important stage in the Christian journey of faith. It has been described as the sacrament by which, through prayer and the laying on of hands by the Bishop, the Holy Spirit is received to complement what He began at Baptism, and to give strength for a Christian life. At Confirmation, the candidate makes for him or herself the promises which were made on his or her behalf by the godparents at Baptism. It is a long-standing practice of the Church that candidates attend classes before being presented for Confirmation. Participants are given an opportunity to learn more about the Christian faith, explore what it means to be a Christian and prepare for Confirmation.
If you are interested in receiving Confirmation during the Bishop’s visitation on the afternoon of Sunday, March 25, a series of 6 classes is being offiered by the Rev. John Seville to prepare candidates for this important stage in their Christian journey. Classes will meet on Sundays fromĀ 5 – 6:30 p.m. in Neve Hall. Class dates are February 5, 12, 19, 26, March 4, 11. For more information or to register for classes, please contact the church office.
