Christmas Angel Gifts and Food Baskets
St. Paul’s, Ivy annually provides food supplies for Christmas dinner and gifts for our regular Outreach clients and a large number of other area families. Many elderly shut-ins are referred by JABA for this project. We work closely with a Greenwood group traditionally served at Christmas by this parish, as well as a small number of call-ins.
For the 2009 holiday, St. Paul’s gave a merry Christmas to more than 80 families in need. Volunteers chose names of children for whom to buy toys, which were then wrapped by our youth. Food boxes were picked up and delivered to the elderly by our volunteers. Boxes and gifts were also picked up at St. Paul’s by eager families. Refreshments, provided by other volunteers for workers and families, made the day especially festive.
You Can Help
Consider making a monetary donation to offset the cost of the food boxes. Checks should be made out to St. Paul’s, and marked “holiday food.” Thank you!
