“Souper Bowl” Sunday

Souper Bowl Sunday 4.jpgSuper Bowl Sunday is also “SOUPER BOWL” Sunday at St. Paul’s, Ivy. On that morning, the Pre-Rite 13 class will collect cash and checks to help those in our area.

In years past, collected funds have been used to purchase first aid kits and flashlights/batteries (after a hurricane in Albemarle we found that our Outreach families had almost nothing for any emergency situations). Money has also been donated to the Thomas Jefferson Area Food Bank.

In 2008, our youth collected $790.78  and are in the process of choosing the recipent.    In 2007, the youth of St. Paul’s collected $1,224 and decided to split the proceeds equally between a local project and an international effort - the Quality Community Council’s Urban Farm Project in Charlottesville and Heifer, International.  For more information, contact Associate Rector Will Peyton or the church office.
