Organist and Choir Director
Alice has been the Choir Director and Organist at St. Paul’s, Ivy since 2000. She is a member of the American Guild of Organists (Dean, Charlottesville Chapter, 2007-2008) and of the Choral Directors Association. Alice graduated from Hollins College in 1974 with a major in music (organ performance); she studied organ there with Dr. James Leland. In 1977, she received a Masters of Music degree (organ performance) from the University of Kentucky; her teacher was Dr. Arnold Blackburn. Subsequently, she studied with Bruce Stevens and Richard McPherson. Alice has taught music in the St. Anne’s Belfield Lower School in Charlottesville since 1992.
