The Rev. William P. Peyton

Associate Rector

Will coordinates youth ministry and leads two Education for Ministry groups, among other duties at St. Paul’s, Ivy. He is also our clergy liaison to IMPACT, a local interfaith social-justice ministry where he is a member of the Executive Committee. A lifelong member of the Diocese of Virginia, Will was the director of St. George’s Camp at Shrine Mont for five summers. He currently serves the Diocese as co-director of its Young Priests Initiative, a discernment program for college students and other young adults interested in ordained ministry. Will is a graduate of the General Theological Seminary in New York City, and has served at St. Paul’s since 2006.

Alice Layman

Organist and Choir Director

Alice_Layman.jpgAlice has been the Choir Director and Organist at St. Paul’s, Ivy since 2000. She is a member of the American Guild of Organists (Dean, Charlottesville Chapter, 2007-2008) and of the Choral Directors Association. Alice graduated from Hollins College in 1974 with a major in music (organ performance); she studied organ there with Dr. James Leland. In 1977, she received a Masters of Music degree (organ performance) from the University of Kentucky; her teacher was Dr. Arnold Blackburn. Subsequently, she studied with Bruce Stevens and Richard McPherson. Alice has taught music in the St. Anne’s Belfield Lower School in Charlottesville since 1992.

James Sivley

Associate Organist/Choir Director

Jim_Sivley.jpgOur Associate Organist/Choir Director attended James Madison University where he studied with George Hicks and Dr. Richard McPherson. His other teachers included Jeryl Powell, Bruce Stevens and Dr. Elizabeth Melcher. He is married to Joanna Dickson Sivley and has a daughter Kelley, a student at Burley Middle School. He is also employed as an Administrative Assistant at the University of Virginia Health System.

Bonna Lewis

Office Manager

Bonna Lewis.jpgBonna and her family have been parishioners at St. Paul’s, Ivy since 1995. Bonna, a Randolph-Macon College graduate, began volunteering in the church office in 1999.

Molly Crowell

Office Assistant

Molly.JPGMolly and her family have been parishoners at St. Paul’s, Ivy since 1993. Molly, a graduate of the University of the Pacific, is the mother of two daughters. She is a member of the Altar Guild, and was instrumental in organizing the first dinner groups. She also designed and planted the gardens of Kirklea while pursuing her Master Gardener’s certification.

George W. Barlow, III

Senior Warden

Cricket.jpgGeorge Barlow (also known as Cricket) and his family have attended St. Paul’s since 2003. After growing up in Charlottesville, he attended Dartmouth College and the University of Virginia School of Law. He works in The Nature Conservancy’s legal department. Cricket and Audi Barlow live in Crozet with their three daughters.
