The Rev.  Richard A. Lord
Assistant Rector for Congregational Care

The Rev. Richard A. Lord recently retired from Church of the Holy Comforter in Vienna, Virginia after serving as Rector for 22 years. A native to the Washington D.C. area, Rick+ has served as Rector of parishes in the Dioceses of Virginia, Connecticut, and Pittsburgh since his ordination to the priesthood in 1981. He is a graduate of the Catholic University of America, Virginia Theological Seminary, and Yale Divinity School. He has served in the Diocese of Virginia as Chair of the Liturgy Commission (2007 – 2015), and as a member of the Board of the Compass Rose Society, which supports the work of the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Anglican Communion.  The Rev. Lord and his wife Debbie have been married for 39 years and have three grown children and five grandchildren. Three of their grandchildren live close by in Charlottesville. Rick+ has an undergraduate degree in music performance (classical guitar) and enjoys pursuing his love for the instrument and its repertoire as much as possible. Daniel Brinson
Director of Music

Daniel Brinson came to St. Paul’s in 2012. Daniel is a native of Memphis, TN, and holds degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music. Before coming to St. Paul’s he served for ten years at Grace Episcopal in Lexington, VA. Daniel lives in Charlottesville with his wife Laura and their two children. Dr. Elizabeth Joyner
Director of Children’s Music and Communications Assistant

Dr. Elizabeth Joyner brings a wealth of choral and vocal experience to singers of all ages, and has previously built robust children’s choir programs at the Chapel of the Cross in Chapel Hill, NC. A specialist in sacred music and concert music of the Baroque, Elizabeth has appeared both as soloist and ensemble member with professional Bach ensembles throughout the Southeast, as well as the North Carolina Baroque Orchestra, the Oratorio Society of Virginia, Winston-Salem Symphony, Choral Society of Durham; and, most recently, a tour at Gloucester Cathedral and Westminster Abbey with the Duke Evensong Singers in the summer of 2018. She operates a private music studio in Charlottesville, where she lives with her husband Andrew and two young sons, Thomas and Will. Contact Elizabeth via email.

 

Audi Barlow
Director of Children and Youth Formation

Audi Barlow has been involved with the children’s programs at St. Paul’s, Ivy since first attending in September 2003. She came on staff in May 2009 as the children’s formation leader. In July 2016 she became the Director of Children and Youth Formation. She is married to George ‘Cricket’ Barlow and they have three daughters, Sarah, Kate and Emily. A graduate of Mary Baldwin College who’s first career of 15 years was in undergraduate college admissions, she also taught preschool for three years and has dabbled in retail. A life-long Episcopalian, Audi considers it a blessing to combine her faith with her interest in children and youth. Find Audi in her office on the lower level in the SPIES classroom. Debbie Scott
Director of Adult Formation, Spirituality and Service

Debbie Scott, our Director of Adult Formation, Spirituality and Service, works with spiritual growth, weekly centering prayer, EfM, our mission efforts and other activities to promote the spiritual development of all members of St. Paul’s, Ivy. She and her husband David and their two children, Justin and Sarah, came to St. Paul’s, Ivy in July 1993. Debbie is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and earned a M.S. in English education from Old Dominion University. She is an EfM mentor and serves as a Diocesan Spiritual Discernment Facilitator and Spiritual Director, trained in the RUAH XIII program at Richmond Hill. Mary Lane
Parish Administrator

Mary Lane is a native of Albemarle County, living in Earlysville. After attending the University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky and then moving seven times in eleven years, Mary was happy to return home to Virginia. She was previously the office manager for the University of Virginia Investment Management Company. Mary has a grown daughter, Jennifer. Find Mary in the Parish Office in Kirklea. Terri Ragland, Jen Yourkavitch
Nursery

Our nursery attendants Terri Ragland and Jennifer Yourkavitch can be found in the St. Paul’s, Ivy nursery. Terri and Jenn come to us with a wealth of childcare experience, and have already made many friends with our young children and their families. Terri Ragland has 19 years of work experience at the UVA Child Development Center, and has long been a trusted personal childcare provider to families in the greater Charlottesville area. A mother of three, Terri is certified in CPR and first aid, and feels privileged to be a part of children’s lives and developments. When she’s not working Terri enjoys spending quality family time with her children. Jennifer Yourkavitch moved to Charlottesville 8 years ago and has 15 years of experience working in elementary schools as a Special Education Instructional Assistant, specializing in autism programs. Jenn has a great deal of energy, patience and motivation that has proven to be a great asset to our nursery. A mother of 20-year-old twins enrolled in Virginia colleges, Jenn also enjoys working out, running, and preparing great healthy meals.
