Joseph Varaksa, Chaplain, Charlottesville-Albemarle Regional Jail

Chaplain Joseph Varaksa has served in church and community ministry in a variety of roles, including work with at-risk youth, indigent services, church youth ministry and adult and youth discipleship programs. Prior to his service as Chaplain at Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail, he served as Youth Director and Assistant to the Pastor at Grace Community Church in Charlottesville. Varaksa has extensive experience working with the homeless community as well, having started his ministry in the Navy while stationed at Norfolk Naval Base and later, while a Divinity student at the Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, where he received his Master’s degree.
