Lenten Devotion: Monday, March 16
I cry aloud to God, aloud to God that God may hear me. In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord; in the night my hand is stretched out without wearying.
Psalm 77: 1-2
When life gets complex, confusing, difficult; when there is dissention, arguments, misunderstandings, problems; when life goes downhill with major disappointments, and reversals, seek and talk with God. Be patient with the distance, the silence, and the darkness, because God will hear you and will comfort you. There will always be a cloud and darkness because your rational self, your intellect will cloud your distance from God, but God is listening, is with you, and is there to comfort and sustain you. Stay in that darkness and continue to seek God. God is there with you, sharing God’s loving presence and listening to you. Keep coming back to talk with God, and his Love and Presence will be there with you. God is waiting for you, waiting for you to turn to God.
