Choirs and Ensembles

The Children’s and Youth Choirs at St. Paul’s will begin rehearsals for the fall semester on Wednesday, August 28.

The Children’s Choir is comprised of choristers from pre-K through 5th grade, and the Youth Choir from 5th through 12th grade. (5th graders are welcome to join either choir.)

Wednesday rehearsals are as follows:

Children’s Choir | 4:00-5:15pm (with youngest choristers dismissed at 4:30)
Pizza & Potluck Choir Dinner | 5:15-6:30
Youth Choir | 6:30-7:30

This year, we will introduce a weekly Wednesday night pizza and potluck dinner at 5:15pm, immediately following the Children’s Choir rehearsal and prior to the Youth and Adult Choir rehearsals. All are welcome – choristers and their families, friends, and supportive parishioners of St. Paul’s. Those attending the potluck are asked to bring a small dish to share, and be willing to help clean up after dinner.

If you are interested in joining the Children’s or Youth Choir at St. Paul’s, please contact Director of Children and Youth music, Dr. Elizabeth Joyner. All are welcome in our Children’s Choir programs!

Adult Choir rehearsals will begin Wednesday, September 4 at 7:00pm in the Choir Room

The Adult Choir, open to all interested adults and teenagers, leads the congregational singing and performs anthems at the Sunday 10:30am service. We also prepare music for special services throughout the year, including Christmas, Easter, Evensong and Lessons and Carols. We sing a wide variety of music from plainchant to Bach to Britten, and from world music to contemplative chants. If you love to sing or would just like to see what choir is like, you are welcome to join us for a rehearsal, a season or a full year. The Adult Choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:30pm and on Sundays at 9:40am, before singing at the 10:30am service. The choir rehearses and serves September – May.

If you are interested in participating in the Adult Choir, please contact Daniel Brinson, Director of Church Music, at 979-6354 or send email. Everyone is welcome!
