Spiritual Growth Reading for October
Kendall Vanderslice, the recent retreat leader of Food, Feasting, and Faith at Trinity Episcopal Church, offers multiple ways to think about how sharing meals together can build up the community of believers. Vanderslice believes that the practice of gathering to eat and pray works as well today as it did in the early church, and we are able to create community through preparing and sharing food and faith practice. Her book We Will Feast: Rethinking Dinner, Worship, and the Community of God encourages those who are hungry for connection and conversation to break bread together. Three copies of this book may be found on the information table at the back of the church. Simply read and return.
