Holy Scripture enjoins us to “always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you” (1 Peter 3:15). We increasingly live in a post-Christian culture where people not only know less about Christianity, but are also increasingly skeptical of its claims and practices. When our friends and family ask us about Christianity or about our answers to the big questions of life, how do we respond? How do we share our faith in a thoughtful and gracious way? Offering a compelling defense of the faith is called apologetics, and Christians have been engaged in this work since the early Church.
Over six weeks, Fr. Justin will explore with participants several major questions that Christians in 21st century America encounter as they dialogue with non-Christians and non-believers: Is faith reasonable? Is the Bible trustworthy? Is this world all there is? Is belief in God compatible with human suffering? Is Christianity the only true worldview? Is Christianity a source of evil and division?
All are welcome to participate in this online class, which will take place on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30PM, starting May 6.
