Children’s Formation Leaders
Do you enjoy spending time with our younger brothers and sisters in Christ? Do you have a knack for teaching
or mentoring? Would you like to be involved in the church and have a lot of fun at the same time?
The Children’s Formation program could be the ministry for you! There are many ways to serve in our Children’s Formation programs: teaching our youngest members in Godly Play on Sunday mornings, helping in Children’s Chapel, volunteering with Vacation Bible Camp or the annual Christmas Pageant, caring for our Children’s Library, and lots more! To learn more about serving in our Children’s ministries, please contact Austin Geelhoed, our Director of Children’s and Youth Ministries.
SPIvy Youth Formation Leaders
Do you enjoy working with adolescents and teens? Did you have an awesome youth group experience as a child,
and want to share that with youth today? Are you good at organizing or helping at events? Youth Ministries may
be just the spot for you!
You could offer to be a substitute for one of the adults at our Sunday night S’more’s and More gatherings, or chaperone the annual service trip to St. James School in Philadelphia. If you’re looking for a simple place to start, you might enjoy assisting with youth events, like Sundae Sundays and the annual Lenten Pancake Breakfast. Opportunities to be involved in our growing youth ministries are plentiful! To learn more about serving in our Youth ministries, please contact Austin Geelhoed, our Director of Children’s and Youth Ministries.
Children’s Library
At St. Paul’s, Ivy, our libraries are one of our biggest gifts to our community, and our much-visited Children’s Library features hundreds of wonderful books for children, youth, and parents. Library assistants work with the Library Committee to facilitate the self-checkout system and keep things neat and orderly.
Vacation Bible Camp
Every summer, St. Paul’s, Ivy, hosts a four-day Vacation Bible Camp filled with projects, music, and fun! Adult leaders provide guidance for specific projects and events during the week, and our youth counselors accompany our groups of children throughout the day. Vacation Bible Camp runs Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon each day.
Christmas Pageant
Our annual Christmas Pageant has long been a highlight of the Advent season, with over 50 children participating each year. Our pageant is rich with tradition and relies on a well-loved script and beautifully hand-made costumes. Pageant directors and volunteers assist with rehearsals, costume organization, and herding our flock of sheep and company of angels on the day of the pageant.
For more information about any of these opportunities, please contact Austin Geelhoed, Director of Children’s and Youth Ministries.
