Here at St. Paul’s Ivy, one of the most distinguishing features of our congregation is our vibrant and growing Children and Youth Formation program. Headed up by Mrs. Audi Barlow, Director of Children and Youth Formation, and with the help of dedicated youth leaders and numerous parent volunteers, this programming continues this fall online for children and youth.
Godly Play: Pre-K through 2nd Grade
Building Faith Brick By Brick: 3rd-5th Grade
Children in 3rd through 5th grade will build on their biblical literacy through Bible stories that include action, adventure, battles, drama, wonder, mystery and/or suspense. Each week a simple Bible lesson will be emailed to children. Included in these lessons will be suggestions for children to re-create the Bible stories using “bricks” (Legos, Duplos, or Playmobil).
Each Sunday at 9:30am, we will hold space to create community and offer fellowship. After a brief welcome and opening prayer with children of all ages, 3rd-5th graders will be organized into their own breakout classroom. There they will be able to share their creations and to discuss the story to deepen the learning experience.
Fall Youth Programs
Because we have been given permission to gather in-person in very limited capacities, this fall our middle school and high school youth will enjoy a combination of virtual gatherings in addition to holding occasional outdoor gatherings at church. A fall calendar of events will be created using the information collected from our youth at the Kick-Off held on September 13th. Stay tuned for more details, or contact Audi Barlow for more information.
