Hi Mary, I hope you are enjoying the beautiful spring weather as much as I am. The ECD planning committee has found musicians and are able to commit to a concert in the Saint Paul’s courtyard on Friday, June 10. This would be during our usual dance time frame, 6:30 to 10 PM. We plan to ask the (relatively small) audience to bring their own chairs, but we may need to supplement with a few of the church’s chairs. I believe we still have a key to the parish hall. One question: is there electricity in the courtyard (for a keyboard)? If so, approximately where is it? I attended St. Paul’s for years, so I know the court yard’s layout. Let me know whatever guidelines you would like us to follow. Thank you so much! Clover

Hello Mary, It appears that we might be slowly emerging from this awful pandemic. The English Country Dancers do not feel comfortable dancing yet, but we are trying to move forward with the idea of a spring concert in the lovely St. Paul’s Ivy courtyard. It is too short notice to organize for April as we had previously discussed, but are the dates of Friday, May 13 and/or Friday, June 10 still available for this purpose? Nothing is definite yet, but if we can find enough available musicians, we hope to plan a concert for one (not both) of these dates. We plan to pay rent as usual if it works out; is $60 still the rental rate? Thank you so much for your continued support, and I wish you a blessed Lent. Clover

Fr. Justin and I would love for you to join us for our next session of Living Your Faith, a six-week course based on the fundamentals of our faith for folks who are new and new-ish to the parish, and for folks who are looking to connect with those who are new (and new-ish). This session will be held on six Wednesdays in a row, beginning on January 11 and ending on February 15. We'll meet at the church from 6:30 – 8:00 pm, and we're happy to provide childcare on site for those who might need it.
We will cover topics including how we read the Bible, the history of the Church and what we believe as Christians, what it means to be an Episcopalian, what we believe about the sacraments of Baptism and Eucharist, and what it looks like to be a member of the St. Paul's, Ivy community. We have a lot of fun in this course, and always make time for any questions you might have about the Church or our Christian faith but haven't ever asked!
Please let me know if you'd like to join us for this session and I'll hold a spot for you. I will also send out one more email after the first of the year as a reminder. We'd like to have your RSVP by January 4th if possible. (If you'd like to participate but need a daytime session during the week, please let me know that too. If we have enough folks who do, we may be able to run two sessions concurrently.)
In the meantime, I pray your Advent continues to bring you peace, and that you're able to join us for a joyful Christmas!
With every good blessing,
Amanda+

Clover
