“Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders (tous presbyterous) of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord.” –  James 5:14

Community is at the heart of the Christian faith. Followers of Jesus are not first and foremost individuals, but rather brothers and sisters inextricably bound together in Christ. Inevitably, life gives each of us challenging experiences, such as physical sickness, and in those moments, we are called to share our struggles with fellow believers in order to receive the support and prayer that we need. The Letter of James specifically directs Christians to reach out to their presbyters or clergy when they are sick. The clergy will then offer prayers on their behalf and anoint them with oil as a reminder that Christ’s love and grace are always with them no matter what. Our weekly Wednesday Eucharist with Prayers for Healing is also a wonderful opportunity to gather for prayer and ask for healing. Learn more about Wednesday Morning Eucharist with Prayers for Healing.

Parish Prayer List
One of the most meaningful ways we care for one another is through our prayer of intercession and petition. We pray for those on our parish prayer list by name, in each Sunday service and during our Wednesday Compline service. If you or someone you know would like to be added to the parish prayer list, please email the church office at .

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Our parish knitting team, Phil’s Knit and Stitch, creates beautiful hand-made shawls which are blessed and delivered to people around the parish who might be in need of a little extra comfort and prayer. To join this ministry, please contact the church office ().
